Bulkhead is a deck-plan editor for science-fiction tabletop RPGs — Mothership, Alien RPG, Traveller, Stars Without Number, Death in Space, Coriolis, anything with a ship and a grid. Draw rooms and corridors, drop doors, airlocks, hatches and windows, furnish with consoles, bunks, containers, cryo banks and reactors, number the rooms, write the key. Or press Generate a ship and edit what you get. Then export. Guide (draw → export → import into Foundry / Roll20 / Owlbear): https://bulkhead.bananafest-destiny.com/guide/" class="redactor-linkify-object">https://bulkhead.bananafest-destiny.com/guide/ Try it first: the free browser demo at https://bulkhead.bananafest-destiny.com is the full editor with a small watermark on exports. Draw your ship there; buy here when you want it clean. Why it exists Every other blueprint tool gives you a picture. A picture is not a map your VTT can play on: you still have to trace every wall and door by hand before dynamic lighting works. Bulkhead exports Universal VTT (.dd2vtt) — the same format Dungeondraft writes. The file carries the image and every wall, door, window and light source. Import it and the ship is ready to play: fog of war stops at bulkheads, doors open and close, windows let sight through, crates and reactors block it. Works with: Foundry VTT — Universal Battlemap Importer module Roll20 — UniversalVTTImporter script (Pro) Owlbear Rodeo — Scene Importer extension with Dynamic Fog Walled, and yours to sell Every export is walled: the .dd2vtt carries walls, doors, windows and lights, so it imports ready for dynamic lighting. Commercial use is fine — make maps with Bulkhead and sell them, no credit required. What you get The editor as one self-contained HTML file (~80 KB). Open it in any browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — online or offline, on a laptop or an iPad. No install, no account, no telemetry. Keep it forever. No watermark on exports. Free updates to the file on this page. Eleven so far since launch. Features Rooms, corridors, round rooms, hull — walls are derived automatically; adjacent rooms get an interior wall, the outside gets a thick hull line. Partition walls inside a room for cubicles and half-walls. Doors, airlocks, hatches, windows on any wall. Windows block movement, not sight. 24 fixtures from consoles and bunks to a 2×2 reactor and a 3×2 shuttle, plus your own images as fixtures (embedded in the save file). Rotate, remove, double-click for a GM note. Generate a ship: shuttle, corvette, freighter or station; intact or derelict — rooms by role, furnished, doors, viewports, keyed with notes, two decks with a matched ladder. Multi-deck ships in one file. Ladders and lifts link decks by name; ghost the other deck while you draw. Select, move, duplicate, mirror any part of the ship. Draw half, flip it. Room key and room colours: number rooms, name them, write GM notes; printed on the PDF and exported as Markdown. Eight tints per style. Lights with a range, exported to the VTT. Exports: Universal VTT (.dd2vtt), PNG at any pixels-per-square, and vector PDF — fit to one page or tiled at 1″ per square for miniatures. Player map export strips key numbers, notes and lights. Blueprint and black-on-white print styles. Opens NEWT Blueprint Builder saves — floor, icons and text come across. Unlimited size, pan/zoom, pinch on tablets, undo/redo, keyboard shortcuts, autosave, plain JSON save files, save-in-place in Chrome/Edge. Requirements Any current browser. Desktop, laptop or tablet. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; your plans stay on your machine. Support Report problems in the community tab or at the demo site. Made by Bananafest Destiny. Built with an AI assistant under human direction; all graphics are drawn in code.
